Back at work and sick and cleaning up Anki avalanche and preparing for my lesson next week by doing my homework and…and…and…
You see, this is the problem with doing something like learning Japanese. Life does not stop. I don’t get to quit work and devote myself to study while remaining perfectly healthy…why is that?
Well, anyway, what I have been getting the last couple of weeks is a detailed lesson in stick-to-itiveness..and, no, I don’t think that’s a real word.
What I mean is, it seems like obstacle after obstacle seems to have been tossed in my way for the last couple of weeks – things that simply eat up my available time and make studying difficult. I find that, for me, one of the big motivators is to think about how far I have come…and how much time I will therefore have wasted if I let myself slide backwards into the giant pool of not knowing Japanese.
Make no mistake about this – especially early on in your studies, what you have learned will go away unless you reinforce it by continuing to study. Don’t let life get in the way!
Coming soon – another easy reading lesson, because I need the practice!
